Overview
5-Amino-1MQ (5-Amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT). NNMT is highly expressed in white adipose tissue and has been implicated in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Inhibiting NNMT is an emerging approach in metabolic research.
