Overview
ARA-290 (Cibinetide) is a synthetic 11-amino acid peptide derived from the tissue-protective domain of erythropoietin (EPO). Unlike EPO, ARA-290 does not stimulate red blood cell production but retains cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties through the innate repair receptor (IRR).
Mechanism of Action
ARA-290 acts through the innate repair receptor:
- IRR (heterodimer of EPOR and CD131) activation
- Tissue-protective signaling
- Anti-inflammatory effects
- No erythropoietic activity
