Dermorphin Research Compound
Research Use Only
This product is intended for laboratory research purposes only. It is not intended for human or veterinary use, food, cosmetic, household, or agricultural applications. Not for human consumption.
Overview
Dermorphin is a naturally occurring heptapeptide (Tyr-D-Ala-Phe-Gly-Tyr-Pro-Ser-NH2) isolated from the skin of South American tree frogs. It is one of the most potent naturally occurring opioid peptides known, with approximately 30-40 times the potency of morphine and high selectivity for mu-opioid receptors.
Mechanism of Action
Dermorphin acts through mu-opioid receptors:
- High mu-opioid receptor affinity
- Extremely potent analgesic effects
- D-amino acid provides stability
- Minimal delta/kappa receptor activity
Research Applications
- Mu-opioid receptor pharmacology
- Pain mechanism studies
- Natural peptide drug discovery
- Receptor selectivity research
Handling & Storage
- Store lyophilized peptide at -20C
- Protect from light
- Reconstitute with sterile water
- Handle with appropriate precautions (potent opioid)
