Gonadorelin Acetate Research Compound
Research Use Only
This product is intended for laboratory research purposes only. It is not intended for human or veterinary use, food, cosmetic, household, or agricultural applications. Not for human consumption.
Overview
Gonadorelin (also known as GnRH or LHRH) is a synthetic decapeptide identical to endogenous gonadotropin-releasing hormone. It stimulates the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland, making it essential for studying the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
Mechanism of Action
Gonadorelin acts through GnRH receptor activation:
- Pituitary GnRH receptor binding
- LH and FSH release stimulation
- Pulsatile administration maintains axis
- Continuous administration causes desensitization
Pulsatile vs. Continuous Effects
| Administration | Effect on LH/FSH |
|---|---|
| Pulsatile | Stimulation |
| Continuous | Suppression (receptor downregulation) |
Research Applications
- HPG axis function studies
- Fertility research
- Receptor desensitization mechanisms
- Comparative GnRH analog studies
