Overview
SS-31 (Elamipretide, MTP-131, Bendavia) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide (D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH2) that selectively concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane. It interacts with cardiolipin, a phospholipid essential for electron transport chain function, protecting mitochondrial structure and energy production.
