Survodutide Research Compound
Research Use Only
This product is intended for laboratory research purposes only. It is not intended for human or veterinary use, food, cosmetic, household, or agricultural applications. Not for human consumption.
Overview
Survodutide (BI 456906) is a dual glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucagon receptor agonist developed by Boehringer Ingelheim. Unlike tirzepatide which targets GIP/GLP-1, survodutide targets glucagon/GLP-1 pathways, offering a distinct mechanism for metabolic research with particular interest in liver-related studies.
Mechanism of Action
Survodutide activates two metabolic hormone receptors:
GLP-1 Receptor
- Glucose-dependent insulin secretion
- Appetite suppression
- Delayed gastric emptying
Glucagon Receptor
- Enhanced hepatic lipid oxidation
- Increased energy expenditure
- Liver fat reduction
Research Applications
- Dual receptor signaling studies
- NASH/liver fat research
- Energy expenditure mechanisms
- Comparative efficacy studies vs. other incretins
